"Identity" has been one of the major issues acknowledged by those who study Latin America. Since the auroral days of Simon Bolivar and Jose Marti until the current inquiries of the vast file of cultural studies, several generations of thinkers, social scientists, philosophers, and historians have succeeded each other over time on the analysis and interpretation of this issue. This research area wishes to contribute to this debate and to the development of multidisciplinary proposals in the context of our study program.
