The free University of Berlin has 12 faculties: biology, chemistry, pharmacy, business and economics, Sciences of land, pedagogy and psychology, history and cultural studies, law, mathematics and computing, medicine (nursing - Medical University of Berlin), philosophy and Humanities, physics, social sciences and policy, veterinary, and three interdisciplinary central institutes: John f. Kennedy Institute for North American studies; Institute for Latin American studies; Institute for studies of Eastern Europe.It has 28.500 students.
